10 Sleep Exercises For Better Sleep
Sometimes, falling asleep is as complicated as getting out of your bed in the morning, however, you can easily solve this problem by doing some sleep exercises before going to bed. Follow those 10 easy sleep exercises to relax and sleep like a rock.
Sleep exercise 1: Upside-down relaxation
Lie back on your latex mattress with your legs up against the wall. Your butt should be 6 inches away from the wall. If it’s too hard, place your butt further away and if it is not intense enough, place it closer. Let your arms rest by your sides with your palms facing up and breath gently. You should feel the stretch in the back of your legs.
Sleep exercise 2: Sleeping swan
Place a pillow in front of you. Lie on your stomach with your arms extended forward, elbows are slightly bent. Bend your left knee and bring the sole your left foot into your right inner thigh. Extend the right leg behind you and slowly hinge forward and place your head on the pillow. Hold for 8-10 breaths, breath gently and switches legs.
Sleep exercise 3: Winding down twist
Sit cross-legged on your latex mattress and place your left hand on your right knee and your right hand behind you. Gently twist your torso to the right and look over your right shoulder. Take a deep breath, return to the centre and do the same with the other side.
Sleep exercise 4: Happy baby
Lie on your back, bend your knees into your chest and grab the inside edges of your feet. Bring the knees out to the side and lower toward armpits while keeping your heels above your knees. Gently rock from side to side.
Sleep exercise 5: Night time goddness
The night time goddess sleep exercise consists of lying on your back and bend your knees, placing the soles of your feet together. Let you knees fall open and form a diamond shape. Let your arms rest on your latex mattress. You can place a pillow underneath each knee if you feel any strain.
Sleep exercise 6: Bridge
Lie on your back, bend your knees and place your feet flat on the floor. Extend the arms by your sides with your palms up. Lift your hips, keeping your shoulders down and hold your belly in. Hold for a few minutes and lower.
Sleep exercise 7: Child-pose
The child-pose sleep exercises consist of getting on your knees and lower your chest to your knees with your arm extending forwards. Rest your forehead in front of you on your latex mattress.
Sleep exercise 8: Seated side bend
Sit crossed-legged on your latex mattress. Place your right hand to the side of your hip with your right elbow slightly bent. Extend your left arm by the ear and lean to the right. Keep your shoulders and butt down. Hold on and then repeat on the other side.
Sleep exercise 9: Rock-a-bye roll
Lie down on your back and hug your knees into your chest. Wrap both your arms around your crossed ankles and rock your body up to sit (inhale) and roll back (exhale).
Sleep exercise 10: Rag doll
To do the rag doll sleep exercise, you need to be in standing with your knees slightly bent and your feet hip-width apart. Place you left hand on your right elbow and your right hand to your left elbow. Bend over from your hips, letting your head and arms hanging down.
